FlashCardFlipper operates under a strict offline-first, local-only architecture. We do not collect, monitor, harvest, track, sell, or transmit your study materials, flashcards, images, or voice recordings.
1. Local Storage Architecture
FlashCardFlipper executes entirely on your device without cloud server dependencies:
- Flashcard Records: Questions, answers, collections, sort rankings, and study preferences are stored solely on your device within an isolated SQLite database.
- Media Files: Recorded audio notes, picked audio files, and attached images are saved directly in your device's local application sandbox directory.
- Zero Cloud Telemetry: There is no remote account registration, user tracking, or analytical reporting. Your data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it.
2. System Permissions & Usage
The application requests iOS hardware permissions solely to execute user-initiated actions:
- Microphone Permission: Requested only when you use the in-app voice recorder to record verbal pronunciation or notes for a flashcard side.
- Photo Library Access: Used only when you choose to attach an image or diagram to a flashcard side via the system photo picker.
- Document & Files Access: Used only when you pick external audio files, import decks from CSV spreadsheets, or restore data from backup files.
3. Third-Party Services & Trackers
- No Analytics SDKs: We do not integrate advertising trackers, behavioral analytics, or marketing telemetry libraries.
- No AI Model Ingestion: FlashCardFlipper does not transmit your personal cards or audio clips to third-party artificial intelligence services or model trainers.
4. Data Retention, Export & Reset
- User Deletions: You can delete individual cards or entire collections directly inside the app at any time.
- Master Reset: The Settings menu provides an "Erase All Data" option that immediately wipes all local collections, media, and database rows.
- App Deletion: Removing the app from your device deletes all local SQLite databases and sandbox storage files.
- Local CSV Export: You can export individual collections or your entire deck library as CSV backup files at any time via the iOS share sheet.
5. Children's Privacy
Because FlashCardFlipper does not collect or transmit personal information over the internet, the app complies fully with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and global privacy standards.
